About me
I’m Abdelkader Mokhtari, a Master 1 student in Artificial Intelligence in Algeria. This site is a public research notebook: a place to clarify what I read, document experiments, and make my questions and methods easier to revisit.
I’m working toward contributing to NLP research, with the long-term ambition of pursuing doctoral study in computer science. These notes are works in progress, not claims of peer-reviewed results. I aim to distinguish established findings from hypotheses and personal observations.
Research interests
- Algerian Darija NLP: language variation, writing conventions, code-switching, and useful evaluation sets.
- Low-resource ASR: speech data collection, transcription quality, and evaluation for underrepresented varieties.
- Representation learning: foundational methods and how their assumptions transfer to real-world language data.
- Reproducible research: clear dataset documentation, transparent baselines, and careful reporting of limitations.
